A paralyzed patient in China has successfully controlled external devices with his thoughts by using an implanted brain-computer interface system. Through pure mental effort, he can maneuver an electric wheelchair and command a robotic dog to complete tasks such as fetching objects. This technology, developed through collaboration between research institutions and companies, was implanted in the patient in June of this year. It has helped him regain some ability for daily self-care and social participation, offering new assistive possibilities for people with mobility challenges.
