Sunflower seeds from Kunming were recently shipped to Malaysia via the China-Laos Railway international freight service. These seeds feature unique flavors such as orange peel and garlic, having previously caught the attention of local buyers at an exhibition in Malaysia. To enter the local market, the company spent over a year adjusting product packaging and obtaining international halal certification. Now, utilizing the multimodal transport route of "China-Laos-Thailand-Malaysia," delivery time has been shortened from the original 15 days to approximately 7 days. This marks the first time Kunming sunflower seeds have been exported via railway intermodal transport, paving a new pathway for more Yunnan specialty agricultural products like flowers and fruits to enter Southeast Asian markets.
