The Mengding Qingshuihe Port in Lincang, Yunnan, recently imported its first batch of watermelons from Myanmar, totaling 9.4 metric tons, marking the official launch of fruit import operations at the port. These watermelons are characterized by their high sweetness and crisp texture, making them well-suited for the winter market. Benefiting from streamlined port procedures such as "pre-scheduled clearance and priority inspection," the entire process—from declaration to release—took less than two hours, demonstrating significantly improved customs efficiency. The company involved has already planned to import approximately 3,000 metric tons of Myanmar watermelons through this port in the follow-up phase. In the future, this channel is expected to facilitate the entry of more Southeast Asian fruits such as mangoes and bananas into the domestic market, providing a more convenient pathway for cross-border fruit trade.
