In Fugong County, locals discovered a solitary black stork—an endangered species under China’s top-level protection—that had fallen into the water. The Gaoligong Mountain Management Bureau quickly organized a special rescue team. After five days of scientific feeding and health monitoring, the bird fully regained its strength and was successfully released back into a suitable, low-disturbance habitat.
