At the Yongchang Community Health Service Center in Xishan District, Kunming, retired physician Dr. Zhu Zhendong holds weekly consultations here.With over 40 years of experience in diagnosing and treating cardiovascular diseases, residents in the neighborhood can now seek his help for chronic conditions like hypertension and coronary heart disease right within the community, without having to travel to larger hospitals. In addition to treating patients, he also mentors young doctors. Since Yunnan implemented the Silver-Age Doctors Program last year, approximately 2,000 retired physicians like Dr. Zhu have continued to serve at various levels of medical institutions across the province, enabling more residents to access professional health consultations and medical assistance close to home.
