Two candidate sites, Kamba in Qinghai and Yunyang in Chongqing, have been officially approved as UNESCO World Geoparks. The number of China's World Geoparks has increased to 49, making it the country with the most World Geoparks in the world. The two newly added parks retain traces of geological structural changes and Jurassic dinosaur fossils, which not only contain rich geological landscapes, but also have unique scientific research value.
