Lawei Highway is the only passage from Gongshan County, Nujiang County, Yunnan Province to Weixi County, Diqing County. The entire route is 30 kilometers long. The highway winds from Puladi Township, Gongshan County to the top of Biluo Snow Mountain. From the air, it looks like a giant dragon lying on the mountainside. Driving along the Lawei Highway into the mountains, the densely forested mountains present a variety of tones due to the changing seasons; the several alpine lakes on one side of the highway are clear and colorful against the backdrop of blue sky and white clouds.
