On October 29, the first truck loaded with sugarcane entered the country smoothly from the Mengman Port in Mengla County, Yunnan Province, on the China-Laos border, marking the official start of cross-border transportation of sugarcane between China and Laos for the 2024-2025 crushing season. On October 29, the Mengman Port and Manzhuang Channel ensured the smooth entry of more than 4,500 tons of fresh sugarcane. The 2024/2025 crushing season is expected to last for 6 months, with more than 1.4 million tons of sugarcane entering the country.
