Recently, staff from the Fugong Conservation Bureau of Gaoligong Mountain National Nature Reserve in Nujiang Lisu Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province, saw a super cute scene while sorting out infrared camera data - black bears were actually eating bamboo! In fact, although black bears are members of the order Carnivora, plants are also frequent guests on their tables! Bamboo shoots, in particular, are simply a "delicacy" for bears. In order to prepare for hibernation, black bears have to quickly store fat, which is their little secret to keep warm.
