The body color of sub-adult Brown-winged Cuckoo is slightly different from that of adult Brown-winged Cuckoo. The upper body of sub-adult Brown-winged Cuckoo is dark brown with white horizontal stripes; the main body of adult Brown-winged Cuckoo is black, with a blue-purple metallic luster on the head and chest.
