Dali clay sculptures use soil as the carrier and hands as tools. After multiple complex and delicate steps such as soil selection, clay making, shaping, drying, polishing, and coloring, they are formed in the hands of the craftsmen and have also become the memory carrier of Dali's national culture. Dali clay sculptures are based on images from myths and legends and scenes from daily life, such as Ashima of the Bai ethnic group and Dongba statue of the Naxi ethnic group.
