In Daguan County, Yunnan Province, there are more than one million acres of Qiong bamboo growing among the lofty mountains.  Qiong bamboo shoots are sweet and tender, rich in nutrients and of high quality. They enjoy the reputation of "the best among bamboo shoots" and have a very promising market prospect.  Every spring, thousands of bamboo shoot pickers carry bamboo shoot bags and go deep into the bamboo forest. Within about 40 days, bamboo shoots become the "rich bamboo shoots" for the bamboo shoot farmers.

 Kang Guishu, a bamboo shoot farmer in Yinji Village, said: I have more than 200 acres of bamboo forest. Due to climate reasons, the bamboo shoots will grow later this year, but the overall output will not be worse than last year. The price this year is currently between seven and eight.  It costs 1 yuan per catty. This year, it is estimated that the bamboo shoots alone in my bamboo shoots will be worth more than 100,000 yuan.

 In recent years, Daguan County has been making articles about "bamboo" and has certified 88,800 acres of provincial, city and county "green food brand" industrial bases, and 364,000 acres of organic bamboo shoot bases. "Daguan Qiong Bamboo Shoots" has been certified as a national geographical indication product in 2019.  In 2022 and 2022, Daguan has been listed among the 20 characteristic counties for the development of "green food brands" in the province by the Yunnan Provincial People's Government for two consecutive terms. It is a veritable "Hometown of Chinese Qiong Bamboo".  In 2023, the county's annual bamboo shoot output will be 42,000 tons, and bamboo shoot cultivation has become an industry that enriches the people.
