China’s Railway Operation Diagram Is Greatly Updated

Since January 5, 2017 China’s railway operation diagram ushers in a new round of adjustment:135 pairs of passenger trains have been added, starting to operate nationwide. There are 3570.5 pairs of passenger trains now running throughout China in the new diagram, among which 2332.5 pairs are high-speed rail cars.
The highlight of the updated diagram is that many CRH trains prefaced by the letter “G” connecting other big cities with Kunming are under operation. The opening of Shanghai-Kunming high-speed rail on December 28, 2016, marks the preliminary formation of the “Four Vertical and Four Horizontal” national high-speed railway network. Meanwhile, the CRH trains starting with the letter “G” from Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Zhengzhou, and Wuhan to Kunming, will be operating soon, which will cut down the traveling time between Kunming and Beijing to 12 hours, between Kunming and Shanghai to 11 hours, and between Kunming and Shenzhen to 7 hours.
